What is the difference between Tuhund Attendance Server and Tuhund Attendance Adapter?
For integration of our attendance machines with ERP your FAQ mentions instructions for two different software, Tuhund Attendance Server and Tuhund Attendance Adapter. What is the difference between the two. Which one shall we use? We need to synchronize attendance machines with ERP in real time so that as soon as somebody comes in the morning and punches in, he will show present in ERP.
We also have three months of data in the machine already. Will this data also upload or the system will start from new records only?
Tuhund Attendance Server and Tuhund Attendance Adapter both connect your biometric or non-biometric attendance machines to your Tuhund ERP.
Attendance Server makes a direct connection to your attendance machine or machines, reads data from the machines and pushes same data to Tuhund ERP. By default Attendance Server reads data and makes it available in ERP in nearly real time. You can also set the time limit in number of days after which the data on the attendance machines will be automatically cleared. You can also clear old data manually through Attendance Server by click of one button.
Attendance Adapter does not make direct connections to the attendance machines and has no control over the machines in any way. It works on hot folder logic and depends on the software that comes with the attendance machine. When you install Attendance Adapter, you have to specify a folder that will be watched by Attendance Adapter. In your attendance machine’s software you set a schedule to automatically export the logs and set same folder as download location. Every time when there are new records, attendance software downloads attendance logs in excel format in your hot folder. Attendance Adapter immediately picks up the file, reads data, deletes the file and pushes attendance data to Tuhund ERP.
Both methods have no limitation of time period. That means, if there are logs of even one year in the machine, they will be pushed to the server.
